On Wednesday July 6th the Greater Williamson Area Business Association and the Marquette Neighborhood Association will be hosting a Wednesday Willy Walka from 5-7pm.  Mayor Soglin, city engineering and other Willy Street supporters will be walking up Willy Street from Paterson Street to Dickinson Street and taking advantage of some great Willy Street deals along the way.

Hempen Goods is offering 15% off at his entire store and Rich says “The Willy Walka should be a great event.  I think people who come will start to realize how easy our street is to get to even with construction.” Susannah Jackson from Mallatt’s Pharmacy has started preparing for the event. “I am getting the store ready for the Willy Walka preparing goodie bags with Tom’s tooth paste and travel tooth brushes for all customers.” Blake Stewart from MadCat pet supplies is also handing out goodie bags to each of his customer’s pets- and will be making sure customers clean up after their furry companions.

Thanks to the help of R.G.Huston, the walk will be down the middle of the street in the construction zone after construction is finished for the day.  The walk will be starting at Madison Sourdough at 5pm. Jim Wolfe the project manager for the project with city engineering will be attending along with the Mayor and other guests.  According to Jim “The businesses have been really great throughout the project, they have been very understanding with the construction team- I am glad we are designating a time to support them.”
